Gaydos Announces School Safety, Mental Health Grants for 44th District
HARRISBURG – Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today announced schools across the 44th Legislative District have been awarded more than $508,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC).
“Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is a top priority, and these grants will play a crucial role in strengthening the mental health and security resources in our local schools,” said Gaydos. “I’m proud to see Moon Area, West Allegheny, Quaker Valley and Saint James School receive these vital funds. With these investments, we are not only securing our campuses but also providing the support necessary to help students succeed emotionally and academically.”
School districts in the 44th District received the following school safety and mental health grants:
• Moon Area School District - $175,321.
• West Allegheny School District - $162,020.
• Quaker Valley School District - $133,241
Saint James School received a $37,5000 targeted school safety grant for nonpublic schools.
The PCCD’s School Safety and Security Committee awards grants to schools and organizations across Pennsylvania to improve safety measures and provide essential mental health services for students and staff.
