Gaydos Issues Statement on Wolf’s Veto of Bill Terminating Disaster Emergency Declaration
July 14, 2020
HARRISBURG – Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today issued the following statement regarding Gov. Tom Wolf’s veto of House Resolution 836, which would terminate his March 6 disaster emergency declaration.
“I am disappointed, but not surprised, by the governor’s decision to veto House Resolution 836,” said Gaydos. “The latest ruling from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court came as a complete shock to millions of Pennsylvanians in light of the court’s prior ruling on Friends of Danny DeVito v. Wolf, ostensibly affirming the Legislature’s authority to terminate such a declaration at any time by concurrent resolution.
“Despite this veto, my colleagues and I will continue working to help all Pennsylvanians rebuild and recover from this governor’s disastrous decrees.”
