HARRISBURG – Communities in the 44th Legislative District will receive some much-needed state funding for infrastructure. Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today announced Moon and Crescent townships will receive a combined $678,100 in funding from the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program after the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) approved the financial request.

“I am pleased this funding has been awarded to our communities,” said Gaydos. “Studies have shown that roadways without sidewalks are more than twice as likely to have pedestrian crashes as sites with sidewalks on both sides of the street. Your safety is my top priority, and it was a no-brainer for me to advocate for this funding.”

The local grants included:

• Leet Township - $127,400 to install sidewalks on six streets.
• Moon Township - $300,800 to replace the West End Avenue stairway.
• Crescent Township will receive $249,900 to replace sidewalks on McGovern Boulevard.

The CFA was established as an independent agency of the Commonwealth and holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
