HARRISBURG – Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today announced $9 million in state funding for critical improvement projects in the 44th Legislative District. This funding, provided through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), is aimed at fostering growth and development in the region.

“This funding is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents in the 44th District,” said Gaydos. “These projects will not only create jobs but also provide valuable resources and facilities that benefit our entire community, which includes students who attend Robert Morris University. I am proud to support initiatives that drive progress and innovation in our area.”

The funding will be distributed as follows:

Robert Morris University: $7 million for the construction of a new 100,000-square-foot ice hockey facility on the university campus, promoting athletic development and enhancing student life.
Allegheny County Airport Authority: $2 million for the design, permitting, construction and inspection of the Southfield Business Park, aimed at boosting economic opportunities and attracting new businesses to the area.

RACP is a Commonwealth grant initiative overseen by the Office of the Budget, designed to support projects that contribute to regional economic, cultural, civic, and recreational development.
