Gaydos Secures Infrastructure, Community Development Funding for Local Municipalities

November 18, 2025

HARRISBURG - Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today announced seven projects in the 44th Legislative District have been awarded nearly $1.03 million in state grant funding through the Gaming Economic Development and Tourism Fund (GEDTF). The funding will support important infrastructure upgrades, public safety improvements and community enhancements across the district.

Gaydos worked with Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-Allegheny) to secure the funding.

Since being sworn in as a member of the House of Representatives in January of 2019, Gaydos has helped to secure nearly $102 million for the 44th Legislative District.

“These investments are going to make a real difference for our communities,” said Gaydos. “Each of these projects moves our communities forward in a meaningful way. We will see the impact in smoother travel, better public facilities and places that bring people together. It is exciting to support investments that make us even stronger. I am proud to help bring this funding home.”

Projects receiving funding include:

Bell Acres Borough - $200,000 for borough park improvements.
This project will add new pickleball and multi-use courts, remove older courts, upgrade the basketball court, install rubber mulch at the playground, add new benches, and make improvements to the parking lot and walkways.

The township will build a new salt storage building at the municipal complex to support snow and ice removal operations.
Leetsdale Borough – $139,500 for the emergency exit study and design project.
Funding will support planning and design work to convert an early 1900s steel and concrete railroad bridge into a one lane emergency evacuation route.

The center will renovate its historic Sears Roebuck kit home and construct a 1,200-square-foot addition to expand environmental education and community programming.
