December 18, 2025

HARRISBURG – Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today announced nearly $1.4 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants have been approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to support critical infrastructure improvements, veterans services and public safety projects across Allegheny County.

Local Share Account grants are funded through gaming revenues under Act 71 of 2004 and are used to support economic development, community improvement and public interest projects.

“These investments will have a direct and meaningful impact on our communities,” said Gaydos.
“By investing in water infrastructure, roadway safety and facilities that support our veterans, these grants address pressing local needs and promote long term community stability.”

The approved projects include:

Aleppo Township Authority – $300,000 to replace approximately 4,500 linear feet of a 50-year-old waterline along Glenn Mitchell Road and construct an emergency interconnection with the Sewickley Water Authority. The project will upgrade the existing 6-inch line to an 8-inch line and include related valves, hydrants and surface restoration. LSA funds will support construction, engineering and administrative costs.
Quaker Valley Council of Governments, on behalf of the Valley Veterans Association – $70,806 to replace outdated HVAC equipment at the Valley Veterans Association facility in Glenfield Borough. The project includes installing three new rooftop units and one basement furnace to ensure the facility remains fully operational year-round. LSA funds will be used for equipment purchase and installation.
Sewickley Heights Borough – $990,730 to stabilize an active landslide and repair Backbone Road to improve safety and access between Sewickley Heights Borough and Bell Acres Borough. The project includes slope stabilization, roadway reconstruction, guiderail installation and site restoration. LSA funds will be used for construction and engineering costs.
