Gaydos Announces $4 Million in State Funding for Economic Development, Public Safety Projects

July 17, 2026

HARRISBURG - Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today announced $4 million in state funding through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for two projects in the 44th Legislative District that will improve fire protection infrastructure and support advanced manufacturing growth.

“These investments are about protecting lives, creating good-paying jobs and strengthening our local economy,” said Gaydos. “By improving fire protection in Leetsdale and supporting advanced manufacturing in North Fayette Township, we are making our communities safer, more competitive and better positioned for long-term growth.”

The funding will be distributed as follows:

• Leetsdale Park Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR) Fire Main Extension, Leetsdale Borough: $1 million to install a new fire pump, fire mains throughout the industrial park, and upgraded service connections to buildings, enhancing fire protection capabilities for businesses and facilities within the park.

• Mainspring Energy, North Fayette Township: $3 million to support the establishment of a new manufacturing facility capable of producing up to 1,000 linear generators annually. The expansion will help meet growing national demand for flexible, resilient energy technology while creating jobs and strengthening the region’s advanced manufacturing economy.

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Commonwealth grant initiative administered by the Office of the Budget that supports projects with regional economic, civic, recreational and infrastructure impact.
