Waiting for the inauguration to start! Beautiful day…a little chilly! |
Dear Residents of the 44th Legislative District,
This week I attended Gov. Tom Wolf’s inauguration at the State Capitol. In his speech, he outlined his plan for this legislative session. Though his plan is ambitious, I am eager to work alongside my colleagues, in a bi-partisan effort to best serve the constituents of the 44th Legislative District. As promised, my goal of fiscal solvency remains paramount this legislative session.
Sincerely,
Valerie Gaydos

NAIFA-Pittsburgh Legislative Luncheon
Last week, I attended the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) annual legislative luncheon in Pittsburgh on Mt. Washington. I sat on a panel with some other state officials, including state Sens. Jay Costa and Camera Bartolotta and state Reps. Chris Sainato and Dan Miller. It was a lively panel discussion, moderated by KDKA Politics & Money Editor John Delano.

Grow PA Legislative Discussion
Last week, I was invited by the leadership of the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia for a discussion around a statewide initiative called Grow PA, which is aiming to establish an economic growth agenda for the Commonwealth. Grow PA includes a coalition of 70-plus chambers of commerce that are working on a legislative agenda to grow Pennsylvania’s jobs, economy and population. We had a great discussion!

Moon Area School District Brunch
I joined with other local leaders for a brunch at Moon Area School District to sit down and discuss the districts partnership ideas for the future. The meeting highlighted the district’s strategic plan and opportunities available for students. It was great to hear about how the district is going to great lengths to ensure that students have the tools, skills, knowledge and equipment necessary to be ready for college and career success.
