Celebrating 100 Days In Office
|
Dear Neighbors,
We recently hit 100 days since I was officially sworn-in to represent the good people of the 44th Legislative District. Since swearing-in day on Jan. 1, I have hit the ground running, working hard to fight for fiscal responsibility, government accountability and strengthening our Commonwealth’s business climate.
Here are some highlights of my first 100 days in office:
- Appointed to serve as the chairman of the Economic Development Subcommittee under the House Commerce Committee
- Co-sponsored 32 House Bills and three Resolutions.
- Prime sponsored two bills and one resolution:
- House Bill 885 (Municipal Debt Reform – Performance Bonds) was introduced on March 11 and was unanimously voted out of the Local Government Committee, as amended.
- House Bill 943 (Prohibition of ‘Gag Clauses’ by PBMs)
- House Resolution 215 (Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month) – passed the House unanimously.
- Hosted three PennDOT Real ID informational seminars.
- Honored four retiring soldiers at the 316th Summit Command.
- Met with local government officials/boards of supervisors to discuss current events/issues - including superintendents from Quaker Valley School District, Moon School District, and Avonworth School District and looking to meeting with supervisors of North Allegheny.
- Toured and visited local schools/educational facilities throughout the 44th - including Moon Area School District, Our Lady of the Sacred heart (OLSH), The Watson Institute, Sewickley YMCA, Holy Family Institute and Robert Morris University.
- Participated in the “Women in the Technical Trades Day” at Rosedale Technically Institute
- Honored three Boy Scouts who received the rank of Eagle Scout.
- Completed over 275 constituent’s casework including:
- Over 30 pieces of PennDOT work.
- Over 50 Property Tax Rent Rebate applications.
- Hundreds of residents stopped by to pick up tax forms.
I look forward to continuing my efforts to fight for lower taxes, responsible spending and smaller government. As always, I am available to meet or talk about the issues that are important to you and our district.
Sincerely,
|
Valerie Gaydos
