Budget Update from Harrisburg |
For me to best represent you here in Harrisburg, I believe that government accountability and transparency are very important, so I wanted to give you an update on the budget and what’s been going on here in Harrisburg.
Today, we expect to be voting on other parts of the budget where the governor, House and Senate all try to add in more special pet projects - which means more spending obligations above our means and above and beyond the pretty fair budget we just voted for on Tuesday!
All week there have been many of us, “fiscal hawks” fighting to stop backdoor overspending. We’ve had some success, but the fight is not over.
We are back at it today. We have had some long nights!
