Gaydos’ Prescription Drug Pricing Bill Signed into Law

July 23, 2020

HARRISBURG — Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today announced that her legislation to increase transparency and consumer choice in the prescription drug marketplace has been signed into law as Act 67 of 2020.

This law would end the long-standing “gag clause” imposed on pharmacists, which prohibits them from informing customers of lower-cost alternatives at the pharmacy counter.

Upon the bill’s signing, Gaydos made the following statement:

“This is a huge win for the consumers of Pennsylvania, and the millions of senior citizens—many of whom are on fixed incomes—who rely on prescription medications for their health.”
